Carnival in Venice

The first afternoon in Venice I headed straight to Piazza San Marco also known as St. Mark’s Square where the afternoon sun was shining on the magnificent Basilica.

There were couple of days left of Carnival and I could not wait to see the costumes.  I was not disappointed!  Those in costume were happy to pose for photos, but you had to act fast as it was very busy and crowded.  But so amazing!  The attention to detail and variety of the costumes, the setting in Venice and the lighting, I was in photography heaven.

I am going to let the photos speak for themselves on this post. It is good to be back blogging again and thank you for leaving me messages. I appreciate knowing there are a few of you who enjoy my blog! More carnival photos to come.

  1. Love the costumes! The Basilica is beautiful and I’m sure more magnificent in person.

  2. Those costumes are magnificent. I love looking in the shops at the masks, they’re gorgeous. The weather looks great. Nice to see St Mark’s without the overcoat!
